„The Magic of Time“  

Gallery Puzić will feature a literary-poetic evocation of narrative and visual time in its first autumn exhibition (September 2026), now inviting submissions of visual artworks that will complement the literary works and readings of internationally renowned Chinese documentary filmmaker and novelist Wei Sun.

The exhibition explores the relationship between visual form, narrative time and cultural sensibilities regarding dreams, tales, legends: We welcome figurative, poetic or abstract paintings/drawings or mixed media works that manifest the artist’s Asian cultural approach in contemporary visual expression. We do not necessarily seek symbolic Asian elements, nor do we attempt to define what constitutes particular Asian aesthetic directions. We invite artists whose work responds to magical time, dreams and the fantastical. The works may be inspired by Asian philosophical thought, or they may be grounded in personal or ‘inherited’ experience, material experimentation, pure visual intuition.

ARTISTS WITH ASIAN CULTURAL BACKGROUND, regardless of ethnicity, as long as they have substantial cultural learning or lived experience in Asia. We welcome Asian artists currently studying/working, or living in Germany or Europe.

THEME: Artworks can employ abstract or figurative visual languages to explore the relationship between time and narrative fictional storytelling/fairytales/legends etc, presenting provocative reflections also on the idea of “magic“.

MEDIA: painting, drawing, all media accepted.

DIMENSIONS: Height or width must not exceed 120 cm.
